Edmund W. Campbell

EAST LIVERMORE -
Edmund W. Campbell, 70, a resident of the Blue Road, Monmouth, died Tuesday following a long illness.

He was born in South Acton, Sept. 21, 1924, son of Wesley and Rose Ellen (Wing) Campbell., and was educated in the schools of Leeds.

Mr. Campbell served in the U.S. Army, in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II as a medic with the 78th Medical Battalion. For 43 years he was employed by International Paper Co., in Jay in the finish room before his retirement in 1986. Mr. Campbell also worked for years for Chick Orchards Inc., of Monmouth, picking apples. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at the International Paper Co., Alfred Maxwell American Legion Post, Winthrop, the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335, Jay, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one son, Michael L. of Hong Kong; two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Melissa J.) Crocker of Leeds, Mrs. William (Meredith A.) Norris of East Livermore; one brother, Richard Kemp of Monmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Gus (Alberta) Burnham of Monmouth, Mrs. Mary Belfour of North Monmouth; also five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Bowler.

DIED - In Stricklands, East Livermore, July 26, 1994, Edmund W. Campbell, age 70. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Interment Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
