Service Unites Couple

Nancy Marie Banning and Fred Henry Larrabee III exchanged marriage vows they had written in a family ceremony Jan. 15 at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Warren Banning, 420 Dakota. The bridegroom is the son of Fred H. Larrabee, Jr., Dayton, Ohio, and the late Gloria Larrabee, Lawrence.

Mike Elwell, associate district judge, performed the double ring ceremony before a floor arrangement of dried flowers and brass candelabra flanking the unity candle lit by the couple during the ceremony.

Wedding music was provided by the bride's mother, who played the organ while the bride was escorted by her father. The bride wore a floor-length country style dress of natural crinkle gauze trimmed in Cluny lace. She carried a bouquet of silk and dried flowers in shades of brown with dried baby's breath.

Becky Bowman, Baldwin, served as maid of honor in a floor length country style dress of blue and brown floral print trimmed in Chantilly lace. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride's.

Best man was Oswald P. Backus.

A small reception was held at the Banning home following a ceremony while photographs were taken. Trudy Crumet and Dana Bateson served punch and a two-tier chocolate wedding cake topped with a miniature bridal bouquet. The arrangements of dried flowers and baby's breath were arranged by the bridegroom's grandmother, Marguerite S. Goff.

A reception followed at the Eldridge House Crystal Room, where music was provided by Paul Gray's Gaslight Gang. The room was decorated with large arrangements of dried flowers in shades of brown. Refreshments included a three-tier chocolate wedding cake, cheeses, crackers, finger sandwiches, tortes, chips and dip, candy-kiss cookies, baked by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. C.E. Banning, and punch.

Following a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, La., the couple will be at home in Pocatello, Idaho, where the bridegroom is a junior majoring in economics and political science at Idaho State University. The bride was a Kansas University student.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. William Berry in the Kansas Union's Old Old English Room and was attended by 19 persons. Mrs. Berry is the sister of the bridegroom.

A miscellaneous shower Jan. 7 at the Douglas County State Bank honored the bride and was hosted by June Thorne, Wanda Westheffer and Louise Everley.
