Mrs. Hurd Dies, Wife of Realty Man

Mrs. Ruth Hurd, wife of G. Newell Hurd, partner in the Boston real estate firm of Weld & Hurd, died yesterday at her home, 8 Ruggles Lane, Milton.

Mrs. Hurd was born in Milton, the daughter of the late Robert F. and Alice Taft Herrick. Her father was a noted Boston attorney and coach of the Harvard crew.

Married in 1917

She attended Milton Academy and the Winsor School and was married to Mr. Hurd in 1917.

She was a former member of the board of trustee of Milton Academy and was active in the affairs of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, the Milton Hospital and the Milton Women's Club.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, G. Newall Hurd, Jr. of Milton; two daughters, Mrs. Francis S. Moulton, Jr. of Concord and Mrs. Keith Robinson of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine H. Metcalf of Providence and Mrs. Alice Mumford of Dover, and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be private.
