Herbert Edwin Gillis


Funeral services for Herbert Edwin Gillis, 75-year-old resident of Alderwood Manor, will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Robert Burns Masonic Hall, Alderwood Manor. Mr. Gillis died yesterday en route to a hospital after suffering a stroke. Funeral services will be under directions of Swedberg's Funeral Home of Edmonds.

Mr. Gillis, who was born in Milo, Me., had been a resident of Alderwood Manor 28 years. He was in the real-estate business.

Mr. Gillis was a member of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge No. 243, Alderwood Manor; the Men's Masonic Club, which developed into the Robert Burns Lodge in 1921; Lodge No. 185, Order of Eastern Star; Master Masons' Club of Snohomish County; the Martha Lake Community Club and the Alderwood Manor Business Men's Club.

Survivors include two sons, Leon of Alderwood Manor, and Lester, of Spokane; a brother, Charles, of Lynn, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Abbie Hamlin, of Lynn, and two grandchildren.

Burial will be in Acacia.
