NELS ERIC SKOOG

BANGOR -- Nels Eric Skoog, 84, husband of MargueRETE Hamlin Skoog, died Jan. 19, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Howe Brook, March 2, 1918, the son of Helmer and Vendia Soderberg Skoog.

Nels retired from the B&A Railroad as a diesel supervisor after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bangor.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 61 years, Rete; are one daughter, Sigrid and her husband, David Marden, and their children, Daniel, Leila and Eric; one son, Eric Nels and his wife Nancy, and their children, Sven, Torr and Ingrid; one sister, Doris Larouche; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Edrie Perkins and Vivian Brown.

Graveside services will be held at a time to be announced in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Remembrances in his memory may be made to the Irish Network, (formerly the Maine Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired), 189 Park Ave., Portland, ME 04102.
