GLADYS M. SOUTHARD
HOWLAND - Gladys M. Southard, 86, wife of the late Thomas Southard, died Dec. 22, 1997, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Orneville, Dec. 26, 1910, the daughter of Melville and Lillian (Jones) Royal.
Gladys was a member of the Howland Baptist Church. She loved to play Beano.
She is survived by a son, Donald of Meriden, Conn., a daughter, Shirley Bryer of Howland; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert; and a granddaughter, Lisa.
Friends may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Spring interment will be in Howland Cemetery.
