ANNA M. STETSON

KENDUSKEAG -
Anna M. (Rosenberg) Stetson, 69, beloved wife for 43 years of Norman G. Stetson, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at a Bangor Hospital. She was born June 16, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of Louis and Ellen (Hughes) Rosenberg.

Growing up in Scotland, she traveled Europe and spent years as a professional ice skater. While in America attending her sister's wedding, she met and in 1960 married the love of her life, Norman. She was a dedicated military wife, serving as president of the Officers' Wives Club, moving frequently and raising four daughters. In the early 1960s, she proudly became a U.S. citizen. Anna was an avid reader and became a librarian, graduating from the University of Maine in 1988. She served as librarian for the town of Kenduskeag and was currently a member of the Board of Trustees, she also was a town selectman. She worked for SAD No. 64 for 26 years, and was most proud of her years as the Central Middle School librarian. She was an active member of St. John's Church and a regular volunteer at The Attic. Anna touched the lives in a positive way of so many people, she was loved and admired by all and will be sadly missed by those who knew her. Her biggest love next to spending time with her husband was spending time with her family, especially her eight grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her beloved husband, Norman; are her four daughters, Annemarie and her husband, Michael Swanson, of Trenton, Katherine and her husband, Dana Reed, of Windham, Jennifer and her fiancee, Mark Sullivan, of Old Town, and Norma Jean and her husband, David Larrivee, of Bedford, N.H.; her grandchildren, Brian Martinez, Nicholas and Jessica Swanson, Asa and Gardner Reed, and Nathan, Roger and Rachel Larrivee. She is also survived by her mother, Ellen Rosenberg of Bordentown, N.J.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and John Wehrman, and Louise and Bill Thompson; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Marie Rosenberg; her wonderful nephews and their families; brother-in-law, Kenneth Stetson and his family; dearest family friend E. Matthew McDade and too many others to mention. She was predeceased by her father, Louis Rosenberg.

Friends may call from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin, celebrant.
