MRS. MINNIE E. SLEEPER

Death of Well-Known Lewiston Woman After Several Month's Illness

Mrs. Minnie E. Sleeper, widow of Dr. Herbert S. Sleeper, died Tuesday night after an illness of several months at her home, 770 Main Street, Lewiston.

Mrs. Sleeper was born in Wayne, Jan. 3, 1868 [sic?], the daughter of John Clark and Catherine (Graves) Stinchfield. She was of Mayflower ancestry, and therefore belonged to one of the oldest families in New England. She was greatly interested in the work of historical societies, being herself a member of the Maine Society of Mayflower Descendants, Mary Dillingham Chapter, D.A.R. and Enterprise Chapter, Daughters of 1812. Her greatest interest however was in her home and family to which she was devoted.

For the last seven years, Mrs. Sleeper has spent the winters in Cambridge, Mass. with her daughter, Miss Catherine A. Sleeper, returning to her old home in Lewiston during the summer. Besides her daughter, she leaves a brother, Allen H. Stinchfield of Wayne.

DIED - In Lewiston, Sept. 16th, Mrs. Minnie E. Sleeper. Funeral services will be held from the home, 770 Main Street, Thursday at 3 p.m. (daylight time). Private.
