DEATH OF WILLIAM H. FOSS YESTERDAY

Farmington, Feb. 27 -- The death of William H. Foss of Court St. occurred Thursday morning after a brief illness with pneumonia. Mr. Foss was born in Wayne, Maine seventy two years ago. He was twice married, his second wife being Minnie A. Norton of Farmington who died seven years ago. Mr. Foss was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in Co. G 24th Maine Vol. and was a member of John F. Appleton Post. For the past twenty three years, he has lived in Farmington during which time he has been a [--partment] Superintendent at the Russell Bros. Estes & Co. novelty works. As a man, he was a quiet, industrious citizen devoting all his energies to his home, which he loved very much. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a man respected by all who knew him. He leaves a son by his first marriage, Thomas H. Foss, of Charleston, S.C., also by his second marriage, a daughter, Edith N., and a son, Donald C. of Farmington. The funeral service will be held from the M.E. Church Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
