Sandra Romano, Thomas Lindsey Wed at Our Lady

Miss Sandra Ann Romano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Romano, became the bride of Mr. Thomas Owen Lindsey, son of the Paul C. Lindseys in a 10:30 o'clock ceremony Saturday morning at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, the Rev. George Leggio officiating.

A white velvet gown of her own design, made by Mrs. Dolza Bertrand of Gueydan, was worn by the bride. Wide bands of re-embroidered alencon lace marked the hem of the controlled skirt and the waistline of the empire bodice which featured round neckline and long, tapered sleeves. A leaf design headpiece of seed pearls held her floor length French illusion veil. She carried butterfly roses around a white cattleya orchid.

Her antique diamond necklace had been worn on her wedding days by her mother and maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Peter Palermo. In her shoe was a sixpence belonging to the bridegroom's mother. She also wore a detail of blue.

Members of the wedding party were Mr. Romano, who gave his daughter in marriage; Miss Donna Marie Lindsey, sister of the bridegroom, maid of honor; Miss Paula Lorio, cousin of the bride, Mrs. James A. Jackson and Miss Maralena Romano, sister of the bride, bridesmaids; Mr. P.C. Lindsey, brother of the bridegroom, best man; Messrs. Lawrence White and Roy Romano, Jr. and James Romano, brothers of the bride, groomsmen; and Mr. Joseph A. Romano, uncle of the bride and Messrs. Joseph A. Salpietra, Randolph Stewart and Russell Marino, ushers.

Feminine attendants wore empire gowns of burgundy velvet with pink chiffon sleeves and back bows. Their head-pieces were burgundy velvet bows with matching tulle. They carried colonial bouquets of pink roses and carnations with tulle and pink velvet loops and streamers.

Receiving guests at the reception in the Knights of Columbus Hall on Airline Highway, the bride's mother wore a two-piece pink silk and wool ensemble with natural mink collar. The mother of the bridegroom chose a green knit ensemble. Both had corsages of white cattleya orchids.

A pink and white theme was used in decorations. The house party included Mrs. Lee Vacarri, Mrs. Frank Sala, Misses Wanda Bertrand and Pamela Smith, Mrs. Jack Collura and Mrs. Joseph DeBennedetto. Tea girls were Misses Lena Marie Salpietra, Geri Salpietra, Madelyn Allen, Mary Eleanor Lepine, Elizabeth Keller, Rosalyn Crescionne and Linda Crescionne.

The bride was graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She is a senior at LSU. The bridegroom was graduated from Dreux High School at Dreux Air Force Base in France and is also attending LSU.
