Prominent Turner Man Ties at Home After Long Illness

TURNER Nov. 9 (Special) --
Fred I. Lindsay passed away at his home in Turner Center, Thursday afternoon, after a long illness. He has been in poor health for nine years, the last three of which he has been able to do but little work, although not confined to his room.

Mr. Lindsay was born in Livermore Dec. 6, 1879, the son of Frank J. and Hulda Richmond Lindsay. He was graduated form Leavitt Institute, Turner Center. He was for 25 years manager of the Farmington branch of the Turner Center creamery, living at West Farmington and Farmington village and was prominent in the community. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Farmington and of Temple Grange.

Oct. 24, 1907, he was married to Millie F. Carville. Five years ago in September they moved to their present home, a farm in Turner Center. Mr. Lindsay keenly enjoyed sports and outdoors life and before his health failed, spent much of his leisure in his camps at Rangley and Bigelow fishing and hunting. When at Leavitt he was prominent in sports, particularly baseball and later played on local teams. He had many friends in Livermore, Turner, Lewiston and Auburn, as well as in Farmington and its environs.

Mr. Lindsay leaves besides his wife, a step-daughter, Mrs. Nelson Murray of Ivy De..., Virginia, who arrived at the Lindsay home Saturday.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Funeral services for Fred I. Lindsay will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Court St., Farmington, Me., Sunday Nov. 10. at 2 p.m.
