LAGRANGE -- J. Lindsey Bishop, 57, died at a Bangor hospital January 13, 1981.
He was born in Carmel Feb. 18, 1923, son of Clarence and Minnie (Cole) Bishop. He was employed by the Department of Transportation and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Maine State Employees Association. He attended schools in Lagrange.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Ackley) Bishop; one son, Clarence; one daughter, E. Ann Bishop, all of Lagrange; one foster brother, Neil Raymond of Bryant Pond; one sister, Esther Robichaud of Springhill, Fla.; one granddaughter, Danielle Bishop of Bangor; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Lagrange Community Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Robert Neal officiating. Spring burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
