Leila I. Carter

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Leila I. Carter, 84, of Manchester, a former Monmouth, Maine resident died Thursday at a Manchester nursing home.

She was born August 6, 1907 in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of Bud W. and Mabel Canwell Turner. She was educated in schools in Lewiston, Maine and Monmouth. She was married to Austin W. Carter, who died in 1967. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker all of her life and had lived in the Manchester area since 1943. She was a member of the North Monmouth Community Church and a life member of Boynton Chapter 88, Order of the Eastern Star, of Monmouth.

Mrs. Carter is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Betty) Chick of North Monmouth; three step-grandchildre and five step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Notice

CARTER -- Died in Manchester, N.H., March 26, 1992, Leila I. Carter, aged 84. At the request of the deceased, there will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral and committal services will be held in the spring, at the convenience of family, in Leeds Center Cemetery. Local arrangements by Bragdon Flanders Funeral Home, South Main St., Monmouth.
