ELLSWORTH --
Von H. Thibodeau, 86, loving and caring father, died July 22, 1991 at an Ellsworth hospital.

He was born in Wytopitlock [sic?], July 31, 1904, the son of Gordon and Ida (Thornton) Thibodeau. Von, a well known musician, played in various bands in the area, as well as the Fletcher's Landing Philharmonic Orchestra. He also played at the local nursing homes. He worked at Beal's Jewelry Store for 60 years; was a 50 year member of Lagonia Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF & AM; the Royal Arch Chapter No. 31; the Blanquefort Commandery No. 13; and the Bayside Grange No. 376. He was also a former member of the Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Gladis (Reade) Thibodeau of Ellsworth; two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Frances) Reed of Ellsworth and Mrs. Karl (Ula) Morrison of Orlando, Fla.; three step-sons, Elwood Young of Levant, Lowell Young, Jr. of Bar Harbor, and Lewis Young of North Umberland, Pa.; two step-daughters, Dorothy Nelson of Bar Harbor and Mrs. David (Constance) Pierce of Lamoine; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Ralph.

Friends are invited to the Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Pretty Marsh Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends desire, they may make contributions to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, care of Malcolm Richards, PO Box 21, West Sullivan 04689 in Von's memory.
