Roger A. Lindsay


Roger A. Lindsay, 63, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 after battling cancer since January 2007.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home with Pastor Richard D. Chronis from the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Pallbearers are George Lindsay, Harold Lindsay, Tim Yerigan, Lt. Colonel John Nicastri, Mike Yerigan and Todd Peterson. Honorary pallbearers are Kayla Yerigan, Briana Yerigan, Megan McCoss, Lindsay Nicastri, Parker Nicastri, Garrett McCoss.

Interment in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery with military honors provided by the Cambridge American Legion Post #290. Lunch served at the American Legion Lower Level, Cambridge, Minn. Online condolences and photographic memories at www.carlsonlillemoen.com.

Roger was born September 29, 1944 to Alfred Julius and Olga Elizabeth (Reischl) Lindsay in St. Cloud, Minn. He grew up attending Cambridge First Baptist Church with family. He attended County School District 3 and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1963. Roger went on to join the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning home Roger went to work for Renner Well Drilling out of Anoka and later purchasing Nelson Well Drilling. This was the start of his life time career, Lindsay Well Drilling.

In 1982 he married Lucy (West) and welcomed her two children, Timothy and Kimberly Yerigan, as his own. Roger was a responsible, loving husband and father proving to be a good role model as the children grew into adulthood. Being blessed with seven grandchildren Roger enjoyed life as Grandpa and these were his most cherished years. Roger enjoyed his time with friends golfing, fishing, hunting and cribbage tournaments with grandchildren. He loved working with his hands and took on the challenge of building and repairing whatever came his way.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lucy; children Timothy (Tanya) Yerigan of Granite Falls, Kimberly (Lt. Col. John) Nicastri of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren Kayla and Briana Yerigan, Megan and Garrett McCoss, Lindsay and Parker Nicastri; siblings George (Barb) Lindsay of Ferndale, Calif., Annie Rae Lindsay of Stanchfield, Sandy Yerigan of Cambridge, Bob (Linda) Lindsay of Houston, Texas, and Harold (Barb) Lindsay of Cambridge; sisters-in-law Loretta (Vince) Peterson of Gig Harbor, Wash., Carol (Gary) Rennaker of Walla Walla, Wash., Bonnie Roe of Isanti, Karen (John) Telstad of Rush Lake; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Olga Lindsay; in-laws, Arvil and Lucile West; and grandson, Clinton McCoss.

Arrangements under the direction and care of the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.
