LEEDS -- Mrs. Alice L. Russell, 65, wife of Dr. D.F.D. Russell of Leeds died 12:05 p.m. Monday at the C.M.G. Hospital after a long period of ill health. Mrs. Russell was born in Leeds, June 3, 1880, the daughter of Lewis L. and Flora Curtis Lindsay. She was united in marriage to Dr. D.F.D. Russell of Leeds, Feb. 27, 1907. Mrs. Russell was educated in the Leeds schools and Leavitt Institute. She followed the teaching profession for several years prior to her marriage and always took an active interest in both civic and religious affairs of the town. She was a member of Leeds Grange, the Farm Bureau, the Ladies Circle, and the Anthony Wayne Chapter O.E.S.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Walter Stockford of Winthrop, Miss Bertha M. Lindsay and a brother Harry C. Lindsay, both of Leeds and several nieces and one nephew.
DIED -- Monday at Central Maine General Hospital Lewiston -- Alice L. Russell, wife of Dr. D.F.D. Russell. Funeral services will be held from her home at Leeds Center Thursday at 2 o'clock. Interment at Leeds Cemetery.
