Mae Ranney Hanscom, 82, wife of Kenneth E. Hanscom for 62 years, died Aug. 16, 1985 at a Lincoln hospital.

She was born in Lee, Maine, May 27, 1903, the daughter of Carl and Grace (Cook) Thompson. She was a former member of the Forest Grange of Lee and the State and National Granges; a member of Pine Grove Chapter OES of Mattawamkeag and taught school in Carroll many years ago.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth H. Hanscom and Raleigh W. Hanscom, both of Lincoln; five sisters, Pearl Stetson of Kenduskeag, Leola Langford of Brentwood, Long Island, N.Y., Etta Lowell of Waterville, Irma Potter of Lincoln, and Grace Tinkham of Monmouth; four grandchildren, Kenneth H. Hanscom, Jr. of Lincoln, Raleigh Wayne Hanscom, Jr. of Greenwich, Conn., Terry Lee Hanscom of New Jersey and Tina Howe of Tennessee; six step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at lay Stevens Clay Funeral Home, Lincol with the Rev. Theodore Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
