Will Marry 15th

The wedding of Miss Marjorie Evelyn Lunden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lunden of Hampden Rd. and William L. Poole, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Poole of Hickory St., which was planned for Oct. 22, in the First Baptist Church, East Longmeadow, has been advanced to Saturday, Oct. 15. A reception will follow in the church parlors. Mrs. Evelyn Travers will play the wedding music and Miss Barbara Lumbra will be the soloist.

Miss Lunden will be attended by her sister, Mrs. Raymond Crosier, of Waltham, as matron of honor, and another sister, Mrs. Dana Clark of Lyons, N.Y., as bridesmaid. Robert C. Poole will serve his brother as best man and the ushers will be Arthur Lunden, brother of the bride-elect and Arnold Talbot.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Classical High School and is employed by the Monarch Life Insurance Co. Mr. Poole, also a graduate of Classical High School, served three years in the Navy. He is a graduate of the Alfred University, Alfred, N.Y., and is a florist at Skaneateles, N.Y.

SPRINGFIELD -
William L. Poole of Springfield, died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center.

He was born in Springfield, the son of the late Ben and Marion (Johnson) Poole. He attended local schools graduating from the former Classical High School where he met his late wife of 63 years, Marjorie (Lunden) Poole. He graduated from Alfred University in New York State and served in the U.S. Navy during WW-2 as a signalman.

Bill worked as a maintenance supervisor at Baystate Medical Center until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 2012.

He leaves his daughter Karen Craig and her husband Scott of Wilbraham; his sons, Tom Poole and his wife Pam of East Longmeadow; and David Poole of Niantic, CT; 7 grandchildren, his brother Robert B. Poole of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 5th, at Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Home, 305 State St., Springfield at 10:00am. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:00am. Burial will be in Baptist Village Cemetery, East . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made to the Americn Red Cross, 506 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
