Jordan-Anderson wedding in Mechanic Falls

Miss Martha Lynn Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Anderson of 77 Pleasant St., Mechanic Falls, became the bride of Roland C. Jordan, son of Carroll Jordan of Turner and the late Mrs. Elsie Jordan on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Main St. Methodist Church in Mechanic Falls.

The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Lawrence Hathorne, pastor of the church, before an altar, which was decorated with large baskets of white chrysanthemums and yellow and white shasta daisies. Mrs. Haskell, church organist, provided the wedding music.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length frock of white chiffon topped by a lace bolero, and she carried a Colonial cascade bouquet of yellow roses and white chrysanthemums.

Miss Margaret Boothby of Anson, serving as maid of honor, wore a multi-colored frock with magenta accessories and her bouquet was fashioned of pale yellow daises and feathered carnations.

Arlen Jordan, a cousin of the bridegroom, attended him as best man, and the ushers were Robert Anderson, brother of the bride, and David Bubier, stepbrother of the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church vestry where the guests book was circulated by Mrs. Scott Honaker of Turner and the gift display was in charge of Miss Alice Arnold of Mechanic Falls. Mrs. Marion McDonald of Auburn served the cake and Miss Nancy Allen of Poland dipped punch. Assisting in serving were Miss Constance Edwards and Miss Donna Abbott of Mechanic Falls.

For the wedding trip to New Hampshire, Vermont and New York State the bride wore an aqua wool suit with black accessories.

Mrs. Jordan attended Auburn schools and was graduated from Edward Little High School in 1960. She is employed in the office at the Central Maine Power Co.

The bridegroom attended school at Turner and was graduated from Leavitte Institute with the class of 1957. He is serving with the U.S. Navy.
