Sherwood Gene Carver

Richmond, Maine -- Sherwood Carver, 68, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta.

Sherwood was born July 26, 1939 to Weston and Mabel (Hinkley) Carver.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his garden and winter trips to Florida. Sherwood was educated in the Richmond school system. He served his country in the US Army. He was a retired member of the Richmond Fire Department for 32 years, some of those years serving as assistant chief. He was also employed by CMP for 36 years. Sherwood was a member of the Richmond American Legio Post 132, past Master of the Masons, Kora Shrine and the Richmond Sportsmans Club.

Sherwood was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Margaret Rogers. Sherwood is survived by his wife of 33 years Sharon (Foster) Carver of Richmond, two daughters Joline mcDonough and Joanne Spencer both of Jacksonville, Florida, granddaughters Kristine Holmes of North Dakota, Ashley McDonough and Brandi Spencer of Jacksonville Floriday, great grand children Braeden McDonald and Aniyah Holmes of North Dakota and Blake Ballasso of Jacksonville Florida, twin sister Shirley Tourtelotte and companion Francis Lambert, brothers John and Marguerite Carver, weston and Carol Carver, Leight and Linda Carver, and Dennis Carver of Richmond.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Kincer Funeral Home with a Masonic Service being performed at 7pm. A funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 2nd at Kincer Funeral Home at 2pm. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
