Margaret L. Carver 1914-2006

RICHMOND -- Margaret L. Carver, 91, of 3 North Pleasant St., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 at Maine General Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge, Augusta.

She was born on May 10, 1914, in Richmond, the daughter of George and Gertrude Rankins Hinkley.

She attended Richmond schools and worked at Waltons Nursing home as a certified nurse's assistant for five years and, previously, for Ames Textile Mill, also in Richmond.

She married Preston E. Carver, who died in January 1992.

She was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 132, Richmond Ladies Auxillary.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Richmond Elder Care for their love and support for Margaret over the past nine years, and also the staff at Glenridge Nursing Care for their love and support during her short stay there.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Erland Hinkley and Maurice Hinkley; and three sisters, Marion Hanson, Mabel Carver and Hazel Shields.

She was survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29 at Amesbury, White & Harmon Funeral Home, 39 Washington Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will be held at 3p.m. Monday.

Spring burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond Elder Care Activity Fund, 3 North Pleasant st., Rrichmond, ME 04357.

Arranagement under the care of Amesbury, White & Harmon Funeral Home, Gardiner.
