Mrs. Mary Woodworth

SOUTH PARIS --
Mrs. Mary L. Woodworth, 64, wife of R. Henry Woodworth, died Saturday afternoon at her home here following a brief illness.

Born at West Enfield, April 1, 1900, she was the daughter of Henry and Florence Lindsay Prentiss. She attended Enfield schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School. For several years, she was employed as a secretary at the B. Peck Co. store in Lewiston. Following her marriage in 1926, she moved here and for a time was employed at Titus Market and later at the Advertiser-Democrat office, Norway. She was a member of the Deering Memorial Methodist Church, having served as secretary of the official board. She was a member of the church choir, the WSCS, the Mr. and Mrs. Club and was a substitute organist. She also served as treasurer of the Sunday School. A member of Paris Grange, Oxford Pomona Grange, the State and National Granges, she served as treasurer and pianist of Paris Grange for many years. She was a former member of Mt. Pleasant Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are her husband of South Paris; three sons, Robert, Bangor; Raymond Jr., Nogales, Ariz.; James, Woodbury, N.J.; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Henley, Mrs. Florence Cairns, both of North Waterford; Mrs. Kathleen Hunt, Portsmouth, N.H.; Mrs. Geneva Holehan, Yuma, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Philkraptz, Roxbury, Mass.; and 19 grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Mary Woodworth were held at the Deering Memorial Methodist Church at 3pm Wednesday with Rev. Una J. Mann officiating. Bearers were: Homer Ward, Loren Woods, Harold Mitchell, and Gerald Kimball. Interment was in Norway Pine Grove Cemetery, South Paris.
