Bride Of Basil Robert Henley

South Paris, Oct. 24 --
Miss Dorothy Jeanne Woodworth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Henry Woodworth of South Paris, and Basil Robert Henley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Berkeley G. Henry of North Waterford and Mechanic Falls, were married Saturday at the Deering Memorial Methodist Church, the double ring ceremony being performed by the Rev. Forrest F. Fowle. Miss Eleanor Mahar of South Portland sang I Love You Truly.

The bride is a native of Norway, but has resided at South Paris since she was a year old. She is a graduate of south Paris High School and attended Farmington State Teachers' College for two years. She is a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Henley, a graduate of Norway High School, is in business with his father, who operates an extensive chick hatchery.

Dorothy J. Emerson

Dorothy J. Emerson, 60, died Saturday at her residence in Norway.

She was born in South Paris, April 20, 1928, the daughter of Mary and Henry Prentiss Woodworth. She graduated from South Paris High School with the class of 1946. Mrs. Emerson attended Farmington State Teachers College from 1947-48, then attended from 1964-66, when she earned her degree. She taught home economics at Walter Junior High School, Auburn, and later taught at the Guy E. Rowe School, Norway. She was president of the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Norway Grange. Mrs. Emerson was a lay leader with the Deering Memorial Church. She was also a clerk and bookkeeper at the ABC Rubbish Co. and various other Emerson family enterprises. Mrs. Emerson was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She had lived in the Norway and Waterford areas for most of her life. She married Basil Henry in 1948. He died Dec. 3, 1963. She married Edwin A. Emerson on June 10, 1966.

Survivors include her husband of Norway; two daughters, Beth Frost of Naples and Marcia Emerson of Norway; three sons, Randall Henley of Waterford, Alden Emerson of Norway, and Edwin Emerson III, who is in the U.S. Navy; three step-daughters, Donna Emerson of Lewiston, Elizabeth Quick of Glendive, Mont. and Nancy Gravier of South Paris; three brothers, Robert Woodworth of South Paris, Raymond Woodworth of Otisfield, and James Woodworth of Woodbury, N.J.; three sisters, Kathleen Hunt of West Paris, Florence Cairns of North Waterford and Geneva Holehan of Durango, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
