STETSON, Kenneth F., age 85, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010. Ken was a distinguished Aeronautical Engineer, significantly contributing to the Hypersonic era including design work for the Apollo, Gemini and Space Shuttle programs. His military career spanned 3 decades (1944-1973); he began in the Army Air Corps as a C-47 pilot in WWII and retired at the rank of Colonel from the Air Force Reserve. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Stetson and daughter, Kathie Nielsen. Ken is survived by his children: Carol (Michael) Soehner, Gordon Carpenter and Perrin (Dave) Verzi; grandchildren: Ken (Melissa) Nielsen, Jenny and Katie Soehner; great grandchildren: Emelynn, Kenton and Alyvia Nielsen; son-in-law: Michael Nielsen; brother: George (Luci) Stetson and many other loving family members and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday 1 May 2010 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 West Dixon Ave., Oakwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
