LEEDS, June 3 (Special) --
The funeral of James Carver was held at Union Chapel, North Leeds, Friday afternoon. Rev. W.R. Pettingill officiated. Duets were sung by Mrs. Ava Robinson and Mrs. Mary Hyde of Livermore Falls. The floral offerings were abundant. Many were present from out of town.

Mr. Carver's death occurred at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ernest Jordan of Turner. Mr. Carver was born in Leeds 92 years ago, the son of Eleazer and Hannah Stinchfield Carver. His life was spent in Leeds until two years ago when the home farm was sold and he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Jordan. For many years Mr. Carver was the oldest resident of Leeds.

He was a Civil War veteran. His wife who was Mary Fish died in 1920.

He is survived by two sons, Seth of Leeds and Frank of Richmond, and four daughters, Mrs. Abbie Morrill of Lewiston, Mrs. Alice Dixon of Livermore Falls, Mrs. Myra Roberts of Canton and Mrs. Emma Jordan of Turner, also many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
