Mrs. Knapp's Death Follows Operation
Highly Esteemed

Kingfield, Feb. 7 -
Mrs. Cora Larrabee Knapp died at Dr. Bell's hospital, Strong, Sunday, February 6 at 6 o'clock P.M. following an operation for appendicitis on Wednesday.

Mrs. Knapp was 57 years of age July 31, was born here, the daughter of Jerry and Louise (Soper) Larrabee, and a descendant on her father's side of the earliest settlers of the town, the Larrabees being among the first seven or eight settlers who came to Kingfield little later than 1809. Her mother's people came from Freeman. In 1879, she was married to Philo P. Knapp, son of Converse Knapp of the town and lived after her marriage for several years on what is now known as the Barnjum place. Later they moved to Madrid where Mr. Knapp passed away thirteen years ago. She has since resided in Phillips and for about two years with her son, R.D. Knapp of Kingfield and was taken from here to Dr. Bell's hospital.

Mrs. Knapp was a woman highly esteemed by the community and much loved by many friends. Her family ties were especially strong and her sudden death on Sunday came as a great shock to her many relatives and friends here and at Phillips.

She leaves four sons and one daughter, Carroll Knapp of Phillips, Ray D. Knapp of Kingfield, Mrs. Blanche Dill and Everett Knapp of Phillips and Clyde Knapp who was living with his mother at Kingfield. There are two brothers and one sister, E.S. Larrabee and Mrs. A.M. Perry of Kingfield and W.V. Larrabee of Phillips. Besides these there are three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, A.G. Perry, Mrs. L. D.? Eldridge and Mrs. Gaston Colleselle? of Kingfield, J.H. Perry, Eugene Perry and Earl Larrabee of Boston.
