LEWISTON --
Dorothy L. Chateauvert, 91, a resident of Greene, died Saturday morning, Aug. 10 at the D'Youville Pavilion Nursing Home in Lewiston.

She was born on May 10, 1911, in Greene, the daughter of the late Laura Bishop and Seward F. Mower.

She married Elzor Chateauvert on Feb. 22, 1928, in Lewiston. He passed away in Aug. 1951. She lived most of her married life at 138 Lane Rd., Greene, and for the past four years and eight months at d'Youville Pavilion.

She loved going to garage sales, music and dancing, and making doughnuts for her family and friends. She also loved taking her many friends for a ride. She loved going to fairs and liked to watch horse pulling. She loved babies and had a baby doll "Suzie" right to the end. She did private house cleaning for many years. She was a former member of Androscoggin Grange No. 8.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and wife Joanne, and Conrad and wife Judy; six daughters, Dorothy Buckly and husband Raymond, Dell Farris and husband George, Mary Casper and husband Raymond, Glenice Bubier and husband Clayton, Janice Brewer and long time companion Bernard Bates, and Elaine Knowles and husband Arthur; 31 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Carroll; two grandchildren, Pamela Barker and Ricky Brewer; two brothers, Dwight and Dwinald Mower; and two sisters, Dell Reed and Doris Mower.

CHATEAUVERT -- Died in Lewiston, Saturday, August 10, 2002, Dorothy L Chateauvert, 91, of Greene. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 13 at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, Maine. Visiting hours will be Monday, August 12, 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Valley Cemetery, Greene, Maine. If desired, contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy Chateauvert to Alzheimer's, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, Maine 04101, Diabetes Foundation, PO Box 2208, Augusta, Maine 04330, or Cancer Society, 52 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine 04011.
