Gwendolin Wing Bourke, 93, of Woodford St., Portland, died Monday, Aug. 3, in a nursing home following a brief illness.

She was born in Flagstaff, Maine, a daughter of Cliff E. and Lottie (Carvill) Wing.

She was a graduate of No. Anson Academy and Farmington Normal School. She also took advanced courses at Boston University, Bates College and The University of Southern Maine.

She was a teacher for 53 years, having taught 43 of those years in South Portland. Forty of her years were as a teacher principal. She was a member of all teachers organizations, including the Maine Principals Assn.

Surviving are a sister, Dorothy W. Jones of Falmouth; two half brothers, Duluth Wing of Eustis and Lubert Wing of Georgia; a half sister, Mrs. Howard (Margaret) Rogers of Solon; a step-daughter, Mrs. Hyde (Lois) Hunter of Yarmouth; several grandchildren; and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William S. Bourke, who died in 1969; and a step-daughter, Dorothea Best.

BOURKE -- Gwendolin W. There will be no visiting hours. Graveside services will be private at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland with her nephew, the Rev. Richard Lambert officiating. Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Children's Dept., South Portland Public Library, 482 Broadway, S. Portland, Me. 04106.
