LENA E. DUREPO

CARIBOU --
Lena Ellen Thompson Durepo, 85, wife of the late Carroll L. Durepo, went home to be with Jesus, March 27, 2001, after a long illness at a Presque Isle nursing facility. She was born in Caribou, April 7, 1915, the daughter of Fred and Idella (Andrews) Thompson.

Mrs. Durepo was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, where she and her husband, Carroll, were members of the Married Couples Fellowship and the Greeting Committee. Lena and Carroll were happily married for 45 years, beginning on Dec. 16, 1943 [sic?]. After their marriage, they farmed in Limestone before moving to their homestead on the Van Buren Road in Caribou, where they farmed for many years. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Lena considered her family very important. She was a superb cook and homemaker.

Lena will be sadly missed by her many family members including one beloved daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Idella and Cyrus Morris of Limestone; two special grandsons, Aaron Carroll Morris of Scarborough and Adam Jonathan Morris of Limestone; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Durepo was predeceased by her husband, Carroll; four brothers, Elmer, Charles, Woodrow and Olin Thompson.; a sister, Hazel, as well as an infant brother, John.

Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, from the Caribou United Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Ross, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mark Babin and Lawrence Beals.
