WILLIMATIC -- John D. Haggett, 64, died Dec 26, 1982, at a Dover Foxcroft hospital.
He was born Dec. 27, 1917, at North Edgecomb, the son of Harold D. and Ruth (Merry) Haggett. Mr Haggett was employed 30 years prior to his retirement as a salesman for the Touraine Paint Co. He was a former member of the Lincoln Rotary Club, a former trustee of Lincoln Academy, New Castle, and a former member of the Central Congregational Church at Bath.
He is survived by his wife, Afton (Bates) Haggett of Williamatic; one son, David A. Haggett of Yarmouth; three step-sons, Nathan B. Witham of Holzminden, Germany, Barry B. Witham of Seattle, Wash. and Robert B. Witham of Rockland; one step-daughter, Mrs. L. Gale (Wendy) Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, James W. Haggett of Wellesley, Mass. and Richard M. Haggett of Edgecomb; two grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; one great step grandson; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make contributions to the charity of their choice in Mr. Haggett's memory. Arrangements by the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
