Ronald Stanley
Ronald Frederick Stanley of Grass Valley passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012. He was 86.
Private graveside services will take place, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
Ronald was born on March 9, 1926, to Arthur and Zella Stanley in Los Angeles.
He served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps, 4th Division, from March 1944 to May 1946. He served during World War II in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Ronald married Mary Lou Dennis on Sept. 7, 1947, in Inglewood. He was the general manager at Armstrong Garden Centers and a sales representative for Armstrong, Weeks and Certified Rose companies. Ronald was a licensed landscape contractor. During retirement, he worked at Oak Tree Nursery in Penn Valley.
Ronald was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed golf, gardening, bowling, cooking and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Stanley of Grass Valley; sons, Jeff (Anna) Stanley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mark (Susan) Stanley of Nevada City; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Ronald is preceded in death by his twin brother; two sisters; daughter, Linda Diane Stanley; and grandson, William Geddie Stanley.
Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
