U.S. Army veteran of World War II


Stewart F. Goodman, 78, of 4305 Carney Ave., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Twinbrook Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1919, in Lock Haven, Clinton County, son of the late Clyde and Mae Condon Goodman.

Mr. Goodman, who had lived in Erie since 1949, worked for Erie Technological Products Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He then worked for Penn Shield Manufacturing Co. until 1982. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. Mr. Goodman was a deacon of Wayne Park Baptist Temple and served on several church committees.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George David Goodman. Survivors include his wife, Lenora Johnson Goodman; a son, Frederick "Chip" Goodman of Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Mae Goodman of Lawrence Park Township and Nancy Goodman of Erie; a brother, Edwin D. Goodman of Lock Haven; two grandsons, Brian and Jason Godzwa; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home East, 2607 Buffalo Road, Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Sistek will officiate. Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wayne Park Baptist Temple, 923 E. 6th St., Erie, Pa. 16507; or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, Pa. 16505.
