She also is survived by her brother-in-law, Carl E. She is further survived by her nephew, Richard M. Kimball (mother Adria Kelch Berry); and his wife, Sarah Wright Kimball of Milwaukee; and his son, Duncan of Medford, Ore.

She is further survived by numerous dear friends throughout the country.

Lois was the daughter of Alfred C. and Mildred Duerr.

She was born and raised in Chicago. She met her husband, Al, while vacationing in William's Bay on Lake Geneva.

They were married Oct. 21, 1944, and were true partners for almost 60 years until Al's death on Sept. 21, 2004.

Prior to their marriage, Lois was associated with the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

She served as executive secretary of The Kelch Corp., founded by her inventor-entrepreneur husband, until the company was sold to employees upon their retirement.

The company was located in Thiensville and Cedarburg.

Al Kelch was a collector and restorer of antique airplanes, automobiles and boats. He and Lois flew, drove and sailed their collections throughout the country. Both their homes were on airstrips, where friends regularly gathered.

Lois was a beautiful, modest lady, and a noted hostess at their frequent fly-ins, as well as family gatherings in and around the huge, historic barn in Mequon, which they restored, and on their Frostproof, Fla., property that they developed.

When Al began editing Vintage Aircraft magazine for the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), Lois served as assistant editor for many years.

Lois and Al also created and hosted the Bonniwell Art Fair, which was held outdoors on their Mequon property in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

It was the precursor to the Milwaukee Art Museum's Lakefront Festival of Arts.

A talented singer, she sang as soloist for many years in church. With two close friends, Carol Holt and Sara Young, she performed as lead soprano in "The Belletones" during the 1960s and 1970s, when they volunteered their talents at Ozaukee County area clubs and retirement homes.

She was a member of P. E. O., a national women's charitable organization that supports education for women.

A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service at Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, 423 N. Main St., Thiensville.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the charity of your choice, or to the P. E. O.

Foundation, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312.

Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville is serving the family.
