Fern Miles May - Fruitland, Wash.


Service for Fern (Boyd) Miles May, 86, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hunters (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Hunters. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Boone County, Mo., Mrs. May died Wednesday.

She graduated from high school in Nebraska, and later from Eastern Washington University.

She taught school in Cle Elum, Wash., and in the Fruitland and Colville, Wash., area.

She was Member of the Colville United Methodist Church, and the Washington State Teachers Association.

Three husbands preceded her in death; Ruppert Kennedy, Harold Miles and Will May.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Hessner of Salmon, Idaho; three sons, Jack Kennedy of Prosser, Wash., Gene Kennedy of Fruitland, and Glenn Kennedy of Deer Park; a brother, Dean Boyd of West Plains, Mo.; a sister, Mary Jo Hudspeth of Fruitland; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hunters Presbyterian Church.
