Michael was baptised at St. Michael Church in Chicago, Illinois August 21, 1892 by Rev. Lipski. His godparents were Valentinus Majcherski and Anna Rolewska, his Aunt.

On January 22, 1913, he married Pelagia Piechnik (aka Pearl) at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago, Illinois. Witnesses to the marriage were Ignatius Rolewski, Michael's cousin, and Martha [---?]. Pearl was approximately five months pregnant at the time of her marriage to Michael. She eventually gave birth to a daughter named Esther. Another daughter would be born a little less than two years later. At the time of their marriage, Michael was 20 years old and Pearl was 17.

The newly married couple resided with Michael's father, Ignatz, at 8322 Houston Avenue in Chicago, Illinois and compensated him by paying rent. However, by 1928, Michael is listed as living at 8213 Houston Avenue. His last known residence was 8518 Exchange Avenue.

Like his father, Michael found employment at the steel mill and worked for Carnegie Illinois Steel Company (3426 East 89th St., Chicago, Illinois) as a Roofer. Michael seems to be the son that his father trusted most. In the last will and testament of Ignatz Swiecikowski, Michael was assigned the duty of both executor and trustee. He received 1/5 of his father's estate, as did the other surviving siblings of Michael, along with a $125.00 check from the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America.

In 1943, Michael lost his wife to a cardiac problem and a five year battle with breast cancer for which she was treated in 1938. Because Pearl was a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, Michael received an insurance payment of $1000.00 at the time of her death.

At the age of 72, Michael suffered from a blood clot in a cerebral artery that blocked circulation to the brain. He remained at South Chicago Community Hospital (2945 East 91st St.) for 17 days until his death on March 29, 1965 at 5:55pm. Additional causes to his death were arteriosclerosis, a Greek word that actually means "hardening of the arteries" and cirrhosis of the liver, where the liver is unable to remove toxins from the body. Its most common cause if chronic alcoholism but can also be caused by Hepatitis C.

Michael was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calument City, Illinois on April 2, 1965 alongside his wife. His funeral was held at the Joseph M. Wisniewski Funeral Home (2805 E. 87th St., Chicago, Illinois).
