Barbara O. (Quinn) Johnson of Reading died August 23, 2001 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston. She was 73.
Born in Bangor, Maine on August 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Reynold and Helen (Budge) Quinn.
Mrs. Johnson was a resident of Reading for 40 years where she raised her five children. She was devoted to her family and friends and was known as a wonderful hostess and caregiver. Her favorite hobbies were creating original needlework pieces for her family and cheering on the Boston Red Sox. She will be sadly missed by family, friends and neighbors.
The mother of Diane and John McGowan of Middleton, Larry and Sharon Johnson of Bennington, New York, Cheryl Ann and Bob Walker of Pembroke, Gary and Jo-Anne Johnson of Westford and Steven and Dolores Johnson of Canton; the grandmother of Matthew and John McGowan, Katie and Ted Johnson, Rob, Lindsey and Brad Walker, Andrew and Allyson Johnson, Steven and Julie Johnson; the sister of Ted and Anna Quinn of Middleton and Winnie and Bob Windus of Georgia; and the dear friend of June and Dick Lynch of Reading.
A funeral service will be held at St. Agnes Church, 22 Boston St. (Rt. 62) Middleton on Tuesday, August 28 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading.
There are no calling hour.
