George Patten Hangs Self - Unable
To Get Farm Help Probable Cause
The funeral of George Patten, an aged farmer who lived on the Middlesex Road, Topsham, was held today from his house. He committed suicide by hanging Saturday morning and was found by his son-in-law. He leaves his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Fred Joyce of Lisbon Falls, Mrs. W.B. Donnell of Brunswick and Miss Alice Patten of Topsham. It is thought that impossibility to secure help to assist in haying was cause of the act.
