ALTON T. HURD
LINCOLN - Alton T. Hurd, 75, husband of the late Beatrice A. (Curtis) Hurd, died April 21, 1999, at a Lincoln nursing home. He was born in Burlington, Aug. 27, 1923, the son of Thomas and Estella (Lyman) Hurd.
Alton grew up on the Hurd Road in Burlington (named for his father). He worked in the woods all of his life and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Southard and Roger Carey of Howland, Debra Dixon and Calvin of Burlington; a sister, Jennie Curtis and Fred of Burlington; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Funeral Home, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Repose Cemetery, Burlington. There will be a gathering at the home of Debbie Dixon after the interment.
