PHILIP F. SPENCER
NORTH NEW PORTLAND -- Philip F. Spencer, 27, died Thursday morning at Thayer Hospital Waterville, to which he had been transferred from Redington Memorial Hospital, Skowhegan, after being stricken a week ago with a liver ailment.
Mr. Spencer was born July 27, 1928 at North Anson, son of Merle and Doris (Fenalson) Spencer. A graduate of Central High School here, he received his degree from the University of Maine in 1950. He was a member of the Mt. Abram Lodge of Masons, Kingfield. He was employed by the Devereau Foundation of Devon, Pa., which also operates a camp at Embden Lake near here.
Surviving are his widow, the former Joan Potter; a son, Philip, Jr. and a daughter, Judith; his parents; and a grandfather, William Spencer, North Anson.
