Charles passed away peacefully at Glenwood Gardens in Bakersfield on January 25, 2006, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Parma, Idaho on March 18, 1911, and came to Bakersfield in 1924.
Predeceased by Marjorie, his wife of 58 years; and son, Don Charles. He will be missed by his son, Doug; daughters, Zoe and Karen; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility. A special thank you to Selena Sherman, Jim Williams, other staff and the volunteers of Optimal Hospice. Marie Duhon, you will remain in our hearts always.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Optimal Hospice or a charity of choice would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2006, in the library of the Masonic Temple, 1920 18th St., Bakersfield, CA. To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.
