MRS. ADA G. BATES

Winthrop, Feb. 21 --
Mrs. Ada G. Bates, widow of the late G.W. Bates, died this afternoon following a short illness. She was born July 17, 1855, daughter of Alfred and Betsey Gilbert Jewell and always lived in Winthrop. She was a descendant of John Alden.

Mrs. Bates was a charter member of Abennki Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and attended the Congregational Church.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Charles J. Bates, prominent dentist of this town.
