W.E. Lawson Dies In Beverly

BEVERLY -- William E. Lawson, 68, of 66 Butnam St., who retired in 1957 as a foreman after 42 years with the United States Shoe Machinery Co., died here Friday.

A native of Somerville, Mr. Lawson was a Boy Scout commissioner, a 45 year member of Liberty Lodge, AF & AM and was an auxiliary policeman during World War II.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Clara M. (Sanborn); two sons, Frederick R. of Danvers and William S. Lawson of Crugers, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles of Danvers and Frank Lawson of Delaware; and a sister, Mrs. Colin Campbell of Needham.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Leed & Moody Funeral Home, 9 Dane St., Beverly.
