EHRHARD, Geraldine
, age 72, a 29 plus year resident of Spokane died Friday. She was born May 25th, 1930 at Verndale, Minnesota to Sylvester William "Bill" Hendricks and Anna Jean McAlonan.

Geraldine graduated with honors from Moorhead Senior High School in Moorhead, Minn. in 1948. Afterward she became a beauty school graduate and beauty operator for a time. She also assisted her father in the roofing and siding business. In 1950 she helped move her large family from Fargo, N.D. to Spokane. There she married the love of her life, Ronald A. Ehrhard, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, in 1954. Their only child, Dan W. Ehrhard was born in 1955.

Lewiston, Idaho became their home in 1962 where Geraldine assisted Ron in becoming a respected local contractor who completed many fine homes in the Lewiston area. In 1963 the couple became foster parents to Geraldine's nine year old sister, Julie Hendricks, on the death of her mother. Ron preceded Geraldine in death in October 1970.

In 1973 Geraldine returned to Spokane, moving her business, "Which Craft?" Art and Craft Supplies, which she owned and operated for three years. She later assisted her brother, Alan Hendricks, in the management of rental properites in Spokane, retiring officially in 1990.

Geraldine was cherished as a long-time member of Jonas Babcock Chapter NSDAR in which she held many offices and chaired numerous committees over the years. She was active in attending Central Baptist Church in Spokane. Geraldine was God's own blessing in the lives of her friends, neighbors and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, mother-in-law, Mildred Marchesseau and sister-in-law, Irene Hendricks.

Greatly mourning her are survivors: son, Dan Ehrhard and wife, Connie of Meed, sister/foster daughter, Julie Hendricks, sister Linda Waite and husband, Dale "Dusty" Waite; brother Stephen Hendricks and wife, Cindy of Spokane, brother, Alan Hendricks of Stanfield, OR., and sister, Ayvon Card and husband, Dave of Port Orchard, WA., nephews, John Waite of Spokane, James A. Hendricks and wife, Jennifer of Pasco, David Hendricks of Stanfield, OR., nieces, Renee and Andrea Hendricks of Spokane, Catherine and husband, Bob Wilson and children, Charlotte and husband, Tom Recknagle of Port Orchard, Wash., Alyssa Hendricks of Oklahoma; great niece, Karen Hendricks of Spokane and great nephews, Kenneth Recknagle of Port Orchard, Wash., James D. Hendricks and wife, Amber, their children, Hunter and Jade of Spokane.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 22, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Central Baptist Church, 19 W. Shannon, Spokane, Wa. 99205. HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N. MONROE in charge of arrangements.
