Clair L. Chase, 59, died unexpectedly May 16, 1979 in Bangor.

He was born Aug. 17, 1919 in Bradford, the son of Clyde and Lula (Bishop) Chase. He was a graduate of Bradford High School and Emerson College, Mass. He was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was a former radio announcer for many years and a lifetime member of the John F. McPherson Post D.A.V.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Athalie) Page of South Portland, Mrs. Harry (Lora) Tasker of St. Albans, Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Bradford; one aunt; one uncle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home, East Corinth, with Pastor Donald Booker, pastor of the Bradford United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lagrange. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 7-9 p.m.
