Alfred Edwin Allen
Alfred Edwin Allen died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida after a brief illness. He was 92.
Mr. Allen was born in Newton, Mass., and moved to Gainesville from Pittsburgh five years ago. He was a retired engineer at Allegheny Tech.
He was a member of the Duquesne Club and the Longue Vue Country Club and served as chairman of the American Iron and Steel Engineers. He attended the Universalist Unitarian Fellowship.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Allen of Gainesville; a daughter, Jeanne Allen of Atlanta; a son, Alfred Allen III of Tampa; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
