MECHANIC FALLS -- William J. Martin, 60, died Thursday afternoon at his home, 4889 Reno Drive, Sarasota, Fla. He was a former resident of Jordan Street here.
Mr. Martin was born in Lewiston, March 26, 1960 [sic], the son of William J. and Cora Meggett Martin. He was a graduate of Mechanic Falls High School and was employed for a number of years by Hahnel Brothers as a sheet metal worker. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the AL Post, Tyrian Lodge, AF and AM, and Dwinal Chapter, OES, all of Mechanic Falls, and of the Breakfast Lions Club, all of Sarasota. He was married to Marjorie Keene and following her death in 1966 he married Norma Jackson who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Cora Benson, Mechanic Falls; three sons, Terrence of the U.S. Airforce, Germany, Kimber of Philadelphia and Forest of Mechanic Falls; a grandchild and a brother, Clarence of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Funeral Notice
MARTIN -- In Sarasota, Florida, December 16, 1976, William J. Martin, age 60, of 4889 Reno Ave., Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Jordan Street, Mechanic Falls. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. from the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls with Reverend Lawrence Hawthorne officiating. Entombment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanic Falls, with burial in the spring at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Masonic memorial services will be held Monday evening 7:30 by the Tyrian Lodge #73 of Mechanic Falls. Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
