SOUTH PARIS -- [Ava K.G. Bradbury] attended local area schools where she enjoyed being active in the drama club. She was a wonderfully talented piano player. As an adult, she worked at the family business of Paris Farmer's Union until her retirement. One of her favorite pastimes was going for long rides in her car. She and her husband loved to dance, travel, and go camping, until his untimely death in 1974.
Mrs. Bradbury was active in several organizations. She was a life time member of the Norway/Paris Fish and Game Sportsman's Club. She and her husband donated the land on the Buckfield Rd., and a larger stone was set on the land and engraved in their honor two years ago. She was a member of the First Congressional Church in South Paris where she was also a member of the Thalien Sisters.
She was a lifelong member of the South Paris Historical society, to which she had donated many items through the years. As a member of the Oxford County extension Service, she spent many weeks painstakingly researching foreign lands and peoples in order to present comprehensive reports to the Service. She was also a member of the South Paris Alumni Association.
Before entering the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center this past May, Mrs. Bradley had a wonderful staff of caregivers at home, all of whom became adopted family members and to whom the family will be forever grateful.
