Wedding and Reception of Well Known Mechanic Falls Girl and Poland Man
MECHANIC FALLS, Oct. 10 (Special) -- The wedding of Miss Lois G. Millett of Mechanic Falls, and Harold Morrell Jr. of Poland, took place at the Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The church was attractively decorated with autumn leaves at the windows and festooning the chandellers. Bouquets of garden flowers completed the setting. Rev. E.L. Vanner, officiating clergyman as assisted by Rev. B.F. Wentworth and the double ring service was used. As the bridal party was forming to enter the church, Howard Mitchell sang "I Love You Truly." To the strains of the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin layed by Mrs. Effie Allen, the bridal party entered the church. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Harry Bridge of Bridgton. Miss Iva Milliken of Poland was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were the Misses Esther and Ruth Millett, sisters of the bride. The best man was Albert Durgin of Poland, and the ushers were Donald Ouellette of Lewiston and William Hartle of Auburn. The bride was gowned in white satin with lace veil, coronet style and carried white roses. The maid of honor wore blue crepe with harmonizing accessories. Her flowers were pink chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids wore ash rose crepe and carried colonial bouquets.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in the vestry. In the receiving line were the bride and bridegroom, her mother, Mrs. George Ellery and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morrell. The guest book was in charge of Miss Marguerite Frost.
Miss Esther Millett was in charge of the gifts while Miss Ruth Millett presided over the wedding cake. Mrs. Lola Collins of Lewiston served assisted by Miss Iva Milliken and Miss Gladys Morris of Farmington. Immediately following the reception, the couple left on a short wedding trip. The bride travelled in a taupe suit with brown accessories. After Oct. 15 they will be at home at 117 Lowell Streeet, Lewiston.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. George Ellery and was born in this town. She was graduated from the Mechanic Falls high school in the class of 1933. For the past two years, she has been associated with the Broadview School, New York. Mr. Morrell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morrell of Poland. He was graduated from Mechanic Falls high school in 1933. He is employed as a shoe worker at the Charles Cushman Co, Auburn.
