DANIEL B. HAMMOND

SABUTTUS - Daniel B. Hammond, 54, formerly of Auburn, died suddenly at his home here Thursday night.

He was born in Ossipee, N.H., Dec. 4, 1884, the son of Daniel and Abbie Bunker Hammond. Mr. Hammond attended schools there and as a young man was employed in various Boston hotels.

Thirty years ago he went to Auburn where he was employed in the Cushman-Hollis shoe factory. For the last 14 years he had been employed at the Webster Rubber factory and five years ago moved to this town. He was a former member of the Androscoggin Lodge of Odd Fellows.

In 1919, he married to Miss Florence Maguire of Turner, who survives.

Other survivors include four brothers, Lester and Walter, both of Ossipee; Charles of Auburn and Howard of New York City; several nieces and nephews.

DIED - In Sabattus, April 6, Daniel B. Hammond, age 55. Funeral services will be held at the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son, Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment at Valley Cemetery, Greene. Friends unable to attend the services may call at the mortuary of Dillingham & Son, Saturday evening.

Daniel married Florence Louise Maguire, daughter of Daniel Maguire Jr. and Grace E. Anthony, 18 January 1919 in Turner, Androscoggin County, Maine.²⁵³ (Florence Louise Maguire was born 3 May 1899 in Leeds, Androscoggin County, Maine,¹⁸³⁴ died 17 December 1939 ³³¹⁷ and was buried after 17 December 1939 in Greene, Androscoggin County, Maine at Valley Cemetery ³³¹⁷.)
