ARMAND PAUL MARTIN, SR.
HOWLAND and HAMPDEN -- Armand Paul Martin, Sr., 66, husband of Rebecca (Carey) Martin, died Oct. 15, 1996, at a Bangor hospital.
He was born in Stockholm, June 25, 1930, the son of Baptiste and Marie (Cyr) Martin. Armand was an army veteran of the Korean War, was a member of the VWF in West Enfield and the American Legion in Howland. He was a member of the Eagles Club in West Enfield and a communicant of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Howland.
In addition to his wife, Rebecca, he is survived by two daughters, Lebra Bergeron and her husband Gregory of Bradley and Katrina Martin and her boyfriend Charles Monroe of Boston; a son, Armand Paul Martin, Jr. and his wife Reiko of Groton, Conn.; a very special granddaughter, Katrina Lynn Whitney; six brothers an four sisters-in-law, Wilfred and Uda Martin of Enfield, Arthur and Rose Martin and Robert and Dorothy Martin, all of Connecticut, Gilman Martin of Lincoln, Raymond and Connie Martin of Enfield, and Gilbert Martin of Florida; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred and Phillip Daigle and Rena Castonguay, all of Connecticut, Joann and Ovid Dumont of Howland; another sister-in-law, Georgia Martin of Howland; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Elcid, Emery "Bee" and Ernestine.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Howland, with the Rev. Andrew Houle officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery with full military honors. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Cancer Fund. Donations may be left at the funeral.
